Katie Walker

Katie Walker

Katherine E. Walker, or “Katie” to those of us who knew her, passed away on August 12th. It can be said that she devoted her life to teaching and helping young people. With a degree in Education from Northwest Missouri State University, her career began at the Kingdom Christian School in Fulton, Missouri.

Her involvement with Girl Scouting began as a Brownie and continued throughout her life. For over thirty years she was a GSUSA Master Trainer and a Service Unit Manager or Neighborhood Director. Katie’s devotion to volunteering went with her all over the United States and military bases overseas, touching such councils as Midland Empire, Sooner, North Atlantic, Kentuckiana, and Wagon Wheel.

Katie served as council camp staff for three summers and received the Thanks Badge in 2008. She was a Membership Marketing Manager for Heart of Missouri before joining the staff of Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland as a Membership/Community Development Specialist last year.

Katie was loved and respected dearly by those who knew and worked with her. She will be greatly missed.

Katie you are a great woman! You always knew the answer or immediately found the answer we were looking for. We appreciate everything you did for the Girl Scout Organization and for Randolph County Girl Scouts! Keep an eye on all of our girls, you will be a wonderful Guardian Angel for them!
